What We Offer

Murray Downs is a thriving working Canterbury farm breeding quality Texel Sheep and Murray Grey Cattle. Owned and operated by Sarah Rodie and her family for over four generations, we take pride in everything that leaves our farm.

Texel Sheep

Pedigree Texel sheep bred for excellent meat conformation, muscling and overall quality. Our flock is registered with the New Zealand Sheepbreeders Association and we offer rams, ewes and lambs for sale throughout the season.

Murray Grey Cattle

Quality Murray Grey beef cattle known for their calm temperament, easy care and superior meat quality. Our stud cattle are registered with the NZ Murray Grey Beef Cattle Society, with bulls and heifers available for sale.

Our Texel sheep produce a distinctive, dense and high-quality fleece. Canterbury-grown wool from our farm is valued for its clean, bright character and excellent staple length — ideal for premium textile applications.
